State & Local Government

Compliance Made Simple

The adoption of mobile technology has rapidly increased following the Executive Order mandating government agencies streamline the delivery of services to lower costs, decrease delivery times, and improve the customer experience. To meet this directive, government agencies are moving to an IT infrastructure where data is accessible to users on any device of their choice. This requires network administrators to make the shift from securing devices to securing the data itself. This is paramount as not doing so puts identifiable information such as name, address, birth date and Social Security Number at risk.

With Edge Threat Management, government agencies can cost-effectively protect data and limit access to only authorized users. Network administrators can build a safe and secure environment with granular visibility and control over their network.

Clay County Sheriff’s Department

Clay County Sheriff’s Department in Hayesville, North Carolina is housed across two buildings containing 4 departments: Deputies, Detention Center, Dispatchers and Staff, and the Administration Staff. The Sheriff’s Department network infrastructure consists of two departments—one for administration and one for the detention center—with 35 devices, including desktops and laptops, and 60 users utilizing mobile devices. Les and Des Keller were brought on as the IT consultants, with more than 30 years of computing and networking experience, for the Sheriff’s Department over a year ago. The Sheriff’s network was encompassed with the Public School system’s network, making it difficult for the Sheriff’s department to meet their specific requirements.

Once we pre-configured NG Firewall to fit our needs, it was pretty much plug-n-play, which almost never happens.
