CRN Names Untangle VP Amy Abatangle to Women of the Channel 2014

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 4, 2014 — Untangle, Inc., a security software and appliance company, today announced that Amy Abatangle, vice president, sales and marketing, has been named to the 2014 CRN Women of the Channel. The annual list highlights the accomplishments of female executives within vendor, distribution, and solution provider organizations, and the impact they are having on the advancement of the IT channel industry as a whole.

This year has been one of dynamic growth for Untangle and its 800+ channel partners worldwide. Within the past eight months, the company has completed a merger with security company Total Defense and acquired two network management companies, Cymphonix and eSoft, evolving from a single product offering to a suite of offerings. For Abatangle, it came with challenges such as integrating the channel programs, sales teams and marketing departments. She met these challenges head-on and had a tremendous year pursuing this aggressive growth strategy, a new direction for the company.

“These female executives have risen in the ranks of their organizations and are leaving their indelible mark on the technology channel. We celebrate their many contributions and the varied ways in which they help solution providers grow and thrive every day,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company. “We congratulate the Women of the Channel, and look forward to their continued success.”

“I’m honored to receive this recognition from The Channel Company,” said Abatangle, “but it is really a testament to the hard work of the whole team at Untangle, as well as a result of good relationships with our channel partners. Working through issues around the M&A process has reinforced just how critical a healthy, flexible approach to channel management has been. We pride ourselves on offering a low barrier-to-entry channel program with a level playing field for VARs large and small. We understand how busy our partners are as business owners, sales people, technicians and thought leaders. We’ll spend the next year improving and streamlining our channel program in an effort to better serve them and their customers.”

The Women of the Channel will be featured in the June issue of CRN magazine and online at www.crn.com.
